Zambian Breweries country director Jose Moran interacts with entrepreneurs and shares opportunities the company offers.
LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – Zambian Breweries is open for entrepreneurs to be part of the brewery’s value chain, the company’s country director Jose Moran has told aspiring business owners.
He was speaking during a gathering organised by Startup Hour Junction at Lusaka’s Protea Hotel on understanding what it takes to get into the beverage industry.
Mr Moran spoke passionately about how he valued the input entrepreneurs generate, and said that the company is open for entrepreneurs to be part of the brewery’s value chain.
“The most important thing about brewing beer is consistency. Partnering with an established brewer like Zambian Breweries is very doable. You can open a pub or venture into the hospitality industry and you can get volumes from us that are consistent enough, and you can attain sizes that are decent enough for an entrepreneur to pursue,” he said.
Mr Moran also encouraged entrepreneurs willing to join the value chain to extend the company’s message of responsible and smart drinking.
Organiser and Startup Junction manager Mwape Chisaka was glad that Mr Moran attended the Startup meeting and explained that the five-year-old programme is an important platform that connects start-ups, young professionals and entrepreneurs to interact, network and form viable partnerships.
“We decided to invite Mr Moran to our event because we have noticed that he has been able to give Zambian Breweries its social currency such that the general public are able to interact with the company on a personal level and this has contributed to the company’s success,” Mr. Chisaka said.
