Powermite once again proudly sets the innovation benchmark with the introduction of the Molex range of heavy-duty connectors to customers across Southern Africa.
Part of the Hudaco group, Powermite, boasts close on five decades of experience as a purveyor of locally manufactured superior-quality, reliable components, equipment and systems for machinery and equipment to Southern Africa’s mining, marine and general engineering sectors. “We recognise the importance of providing cutting-edge products that add value to our customers’ business and Molex most certainly walks the talk,” states Donovan Marks, Director of Powermite. “This globally renowned brand is synonymous with quality, durability and versatility and the products are the perfect fit for a wide range of heavy-duty industrial control and power applications found in test bays as well as in the food & beverage and medical sectors.”
The Molex GWConnect® heavy duty connector portfolio includes industrial connectors (including multipole), inserts, aluminium enclosures and more than 6000 complementary products. “The products we supply are a representation of our brand and therefore we ensure that our entire portfolio adheres to strict quality standards,” continues Marks. All components in the Molex range are fabricated from the finest quality materials and are compliant with international standards and UL/CSA requirements. Customers can therefore rest assured that their Molex products will contribute to increased uptime and productivity.
The Molex multipole connectors are designed and developed for heavy-duty industrial applications. Perfectly suited to be utilised with alternate or direct current, these robust connectors facilitate the manufacturing process, installation and maintenance of sectional electric parts in complex electric and electronic machinery and are also used in robots, electric panels, control equipment as well as power, control and signal circuit connectivity.
The units are available in 2,5 mm², 6 mm² and 16mm² and in 10,16, 35 and 80 Amp ranges in various combinations of power and control connectors.
The main parts of the advanced Molex enclosures are manufactured from die-cast aluminium alloy with a polyester powder (nickel plated for EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) versions) or a self-extinguishing thermoplastic finish.
Placing safety as a key priority, several different locking systems that comprise of galvanised steel or stainless steel monoblock levers as well as stainless steel springs and pegs deliver enhanced coupling stability and protection against accidental opening.
Sealing is ensured thanks to special gaskets that protect the insert inside the enclosures against dust, water and other aggressive agents. These enclosures are at home in various industrial installations as well as in standard, harsh and EMC environments.
Powermite technicians have received training on the Molex range to ensure that customers are offered the right products according to their application requirements and that the products are used correctly for optimum performance, safety and extended life cycle.
Mark wraps up: “We always strive to deliver best-in-class products and services to our valued customers so that they can take their productivity and profitability to the next level. And now with the versatile Molex range in the fold, customers can make the smart connection to quality, reliability and lowest total cost of ownership.”
