Airline connects tourists to traditional ceremony
LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – Proflight Zambia, Zambia’s leading local airline has added special flights and a 20 percent discount for travellers flying to Eastern Province for the N’cwala Traditional Ceremony this month.
The airline is offering extra flights on its Lusaka-Mfuwe-Lusaka route for travellers heading to the ceremony between Wednesday, February 20 and Monday February 25 using the promotion code Ncwala19.
“Our cultural ceremonies go to the heart of our identity as Zambians, and this is why Proflight is proud to support events such as N’cwala,” said Proflight Zambia’s director of government and industry affairs Captain Philip Lemba. “We are very happy and excited to connect tourists and travellers to this year’s ceremony.”
This year the N’cwala Traditional Ceremony will be held on Feb 23, and the airline has added special flights to the ceremony while also sponsoring the N’cwala Fundraising Committee with flights, saving a lengthy road journey to the function.
The N’cwala is held every year on the last Saturday of February by the Ngoni people of Chipata District in Eastern Province. It is a celebration of the first harvests of the year. The ceremony takes place at Mutenguleni village in Chipata.
